7 Tips On How To Choose The Right Career
Hello! It's public holiday!!! How are you enjoying it? Well for me, I will be going for an excursion to NIFOR because today is lecture free day due to workers' day celebration. But before setting out for the excursion, I will like to write on a topic stated above "Choosing the right career".
Choosing the right career can be one of the difficult challenges we encounter in life. Having a defined career direction will not only
help you with getting a job but it will also contribute a lot in your entire life.
Many people find it difficult to discover the actual fact that bring them to this world. They found themselves jumping from one career to the other, from one job to the other. But all these can happen only when one fail to consider some important facts that he/she supposed to consider.
One of my friends once said that there is no difficulty in choosing a career. But I made him understood that one can choose any career easily but the question is if he really choose the right career. Right career is that career that will make you feel fulfilled, that will make you feel comfortable. Choosing the Right career will determine what you will be tomorrow.
It's almost time for me to start preparing for my excursion, so I will be rushing immediately to point out some facts that we have to consider before choosing a career.
7 Tips on how to choose the right career
1. Consider your dream career
Yes!! I think this point is the first thing to consider.
There is an old saying that if you're trying to choose a career, you should think about what you would do if you do't have to work. Some people fail to have "plan B" . They depend wholly on there current job. What if something happen in future or what if they sack you?
What am trying to say here is that you should consider other things you are capable of doing apart from your current career. Discover yourself and invest. Let me quickly ask you this question; if you have million dollars and you could do anything, what would you do?
Your answer to that question, while maybe not literally the best career choice for you, may give you insight into what you should do.
2. Consider what you enjoy or enjoyed in school
Academic subjects translate well into future careers but may require more schooling than other types of careers. What you enjoy or enjoyed most in high school could propel you into your future career but bear it in mind that you have to be willing to work for it.
3. Your hobbies
This another great point to consider because it is very easy to turn your hobbies or something you love doing into a future career. Your hobbies my correspond to real world needs and positions.
So consider what you prefer or like to do and think how that might fit into a career.
If you like drawing or art, consider becoming a graphic designer
4. Examine Yourself
Figuring out what you should do with your life may sometimes require you to know yourself better. If you really want to have a good career that will make you feel happy and comfortable, you have to know yourself and have a good understanding of what you want.
All you have to do is to figure out time to decide what's important for you. It's more important to figure your life out as early as possible, rather than getting stuck in a career which makes you hate your life.
5. Your future job stability
It will be a welcome idea if you consider your future job stability. Since society needs different things at different time, job markets is unsteadiness. You will need to consider if the career you choose is stable enough for you and your desires for the future.
6. Your future financial security.
This is one of most important thing to consider when choosing a career. Since we are choosing career to make money, consider if the path you're choosing will provide you with financial security. Whether you will be able to make enough money that will take care of you and your family.
7. Finally, Do more research
I believe that with the above points, you could be able to choose to right career. But if you are still confused, consider doing more research. Also try to consult your adviser or college of choice.
