Being successful in life is what everybody in our society quest for. We all are eager to be a famous person. But being successful is not a day job. It require a lot of effort, time and sacrifice. Being successful is not for the lazy ones but if you said that success is for lazy ones, can you name any of them for me?

I believe that we’ve all heard the stories about the mega-successful who wake up early every day and conquer the world before most people put the coffee on. But what about the other time of day that plays an equally important role?

In my previous post, I pointed out about 10 Morning Habits That Distinguished Highly Successful People. Today, I will be writing on 5 things highly successful people do before bedtime.

1. Take a walk

Yes!! That’s one of the things that keep them on the track. Successful people don’t isolate themselves at one place. They adapt doing so as a habit and this is inform of the evening exercise. Reasons why they do that was for them to feel relax and comfortable after a stressful day. And aside from the health benefits of daily work, there are some other benefits that come along with it.

Research has shown that walking can increase creativity. When you’re walking, your brain open up the free flow of ideas.

So if you’re aspiring to be like one of them, you must imitate their footsteps. Therefore, anytime you return from work, after resting, try to walk around even if it is within your compound.

2. Read for at least an hour

Successful people do spend an hour reading a book, ranging from newspapers to motivational books. Example is a famous man, Microsoft billionaire Bill Gate who is a passionate reader. Each night before bed, he spends an hour reading a book.

There are so many benefits in reading daily, it help us to gain new knowledge, and it also reduce stress and improve our memory. Every time we read, it’s like a mental workout for our mind.

Research has shown that reading for as little as six minutes a day can reduce stress levels by up to 68%.

Research also shown that people who stimulate their minds through activities like reading, reduced cognitive decline by an average of 32% as they got older in age.

So, for you to be successful, you must have the spirit of daily reading in you.

3. Meditate

Distinguished people usually map out time every night to meditate on their life. They think and at least have some minutes of silent. Meditation was found to help reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain.

Even the media maven has long supported the idea of regular meditation. So always create a time for your meditation, pray and think about how you will improve in life. From there, you will see how far you will go.

4. Set a goals against the next day

Highly successful people do plan or set a goals against the next day. A good example was the American Express CEO who likes to manage his time, and he does so by ending his nights in a very unique way. He plans out three things he wants to accomplish for the following day. By main doing so, all he has to do is just to wake up in the morning, and get to work on his most important tasks.

So for you to be successful, always plan your day ahead, so that immediately you wake up, you will start with your most important task, right away.

5. Keep record

Successful people do write down their daily achievements. They do so in other for them to keep record and know when they are not doing well. They always compare their daily achievement with the previous one and by doing so, it will enable them know their weakness.

So for you to be successful, keep record of your accomplished goals and always compare it with the past. I assure you that by doing so, you can be able to ascertain your weak points and excel.
