Semester
exams is one of the sure challenge every university students face at the end of
every semester. It is the best way to test how far a
student has gone in the terms
of academics. Semester exams is a great challenge for each students, especially
for those that know the reasons why they are in school because it is through this
exams that their grade point average (GPA) is been calculated.
Semesterexams is a great burden to students that it makes them to get more serious with
their studies. During this period, a lot of things do happen, students used to
stop all their extra curricula activities in other for them to prepare very
well for it. Also during this period, some students lack food stuffs and they
starve themselves because they don’t have time to look for something to eat, many
of them feel sick which is normally called “Exam Fever” but I believe that the
cause of it is stress. Another reason why a student might
feel sick is because that student did not start preparing for the exams on time,
so during this time, he/she is trying to cope. It might also be that the
student was overburdened after hearing and experiencing how the semester exams
used to be.
Above
all, a student who have the idea of what he/she is going to face during the
period exams normally have a way of preparing. He do not normally face any
difficulty during the period of exams. He/she always prepare ahead of the
exams. He makes all the necessary plans to make sure that nothings comes up.
But
it is quit unfortunate that after much preparations, some students still felt
heart break due to their poor performance when the result comes out. They felt
disappointed because what they saw in their result didn’t correspond in any way
with the kind of effort they put during the exams. But according to my research
and what I have noticed recently, I have come to conclusion that the reason for
the poor result might be that the method they used in preparing for the exams
was not that enough to lead them. They need to use a new method which will
definitely work well if they can merge it with the previous one.
In
this post, am going to share some of the ways of preparing for the semester
exams. I always make use of some methods here.
I did a lot of research about this post, therefore, I will be including
some points that I gathered during that research work.
7
Best Ways To Prepare For Semester Exams
1. Attend classes
This
is first step in preparing for your semester exams. Attending classes is a kind
of laying foundations for the semester exam. It is very important. It is during
this classes that lecturer say many things and teach many things that is going
to come out in the exams. Some people have the mindset that even if they didn’t
attend classes, that they can still read on their own. I doubt you because
there are some certain topics that need a candid explanations.
So,
attending classes is very important if you really want to smile after each
exam.
2. Start reading on time
This
is another great point in the sense that many student form the habit of
delaying their reading until when the exams is near. When you start reading on
time, there is high possibility of assimilating the important things more, than
waiting for two weeks to the exams.

3. Read each materials/notes given
by the lecture up to two or more times
When
you start reading on time, there is a high possibility that you are going to
cover the notes/materials given by the lecturer more than two times.
It
is very important to be going to library in other for you to be getting more
knowledge on a particular topic. But
when it is remaining two weeks to the exams, concentrate more on the notes,
materials and what you jotted from your studies because it is from there that
question are likely to come from.
4. Increase your studying period
This
particular point is very necessary because you can’t use the same period of
time you used to study during the normal school time to study during the exam
time. Let assume that you always study for three hours (3 hours) during the
normal school period, during the exam period, you have to increase it for about
six hours (6 hours), though it depends.
The
point am trying to make here is that you need to increase your studying period.

5. Review the assignment questions
Some
students usually neglect this particular point. They forget to check back the
questions given to them as an assignment. Many lecturers like repeating some of
their assignment questions during the exams.
So,
it is important that you look at those assignment questions and study them
before going into the exam hall.
6. Also consider the questions the
lecturer like repeating anytime he/she come to class
Some
lecturers are fond of asking some questions to the students anytime they come
to class. A good student will take note of those question and study them
carefully.
So,
think about those questions he/she always repeat anytime he comes to class.
7. Last but not the least, always
eat before reading
This
point is very important in other for you to maintain your balance and good
health. Am aware that during the exam period, students normally lack food
stuff, some don’t even have time to cook any food but always have it in mind
that you can only write your exams when you have a good health.
Always
put food as number one in your plan anytime because you can’t understand what
you are studying without food.
Even
if you don’t have time to cook food that require time, cook the fast one like
indomie. During the exam period, I
always make sure that I don’t lack provisions, indomie and eggs. Food is very
necessary.
